How Make a Quick Marinara Dipping Sauce
Looking for the perfect dipping sauce for your favorite italian-flavored appetizer or entree? Look no further! This recipe uses a common pantry staple—tomato paste—to make a fast and easy marinara sauce that can be seasoned and spiced to your liking!
- 1 can tomato paste
- 11⁄4 Cup water
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 teaspoon basil
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1⁄2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon red pepper flake (optional)
Empty the contents of one can of tomato paste into a small sauce pan.
Add a small portion of water and mix it thoroughly into the paste. Continue to gradually add water while mixing until the desired thickness for your sauce is reached.
Stir in the sugar, garlic salt, basil, oregano, onion powder, and red pepper flake. (For a sweeter sauce, add up to another 1/2 teaspoon of sugar.)
Simmer for at least 5 minutes.Serve in a small dish as a dipping sauce.
