Directions

50 min.
1. Step

To bake the cinnamon cake recipe, preheat the oven to 180 degrees top/bottom heat and grease a cake tin with butter.

2. Step

In a medium-sized bowl, beat the soft butter and sugar with a hand mixer until creamy. It is worth stirring for a few minutes longer to achieve a really nice, fluffy mixture.

3. Step

Then stir in the eggs one at a time. Wait until each egg has been fully incorporated into the mixture before adding the next one. This will help your cake to rise nicely later.

4. Step

In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt and two teaspoons of cinnamon. Then add this mixture alternately with the milk to the butter-sugar-egg mixture and mix well. Be careful not to over-mix, as this can make the cake dense and heavy, and we want it to be nice and fluffy.

5. Step

Pour the batter into the prepared tin and bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. When the edges of the cake are browned and the toothpick comes out clean, the cake is perfect!

6. Step

Leave the cinnamon cake to cool, then dust with a mixture of the remaining cinnamon and powdered sugar. Cut open and enjoy with coffee or tea.
