Easy and delicious traditional Italian puttanesca sauce recipe
Prepare the traditional puttanesca sauce and accompany your pasta dishes with real Italian flavour.
- 400 ml crushed tomato
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 4 anchovy fillets
- 1⁄2 dried chilli pepper
- 1 tablespoon caper
- 1 pinch of sugar
- 6 black olives
- fresh oregano
- fresh basil
- ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Provencal herbs
- extra virgin coconut oil
Chop the garlic cloves.
Finely chop the dried chilli with a pair of scissors.
Chop the anchovies.
Put a frying pan on the heat and add a drizzle of oil.
Then add the garlic, chilli and anchovies. Stir with a wooden spoon.
When the garlic begins to brown, add the tomato, Provencal herbs, ground black pepper and sugar.
Stir and cook for 20-25 minutes, until it begins to thicken.
When it is done, add the olives and capers and mix everything together.
Serve the puttanesca sauce and garnish it with fresh oregano.
