Cut the carrots into 2-inch pieces. The size doesn't have to be accurate, but equally sized pieces ensure even cooking.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Use a pan that's large enough to contain the carrots without crowding; this will allow them to cook evenly.
