The best homemade pretzels recipe

- 11⁄2 cups water
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 41⁄2 cups self-rising flour
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 2⁄3 Cup baking soda
- 1 egg
- coarse salt
In a bowl, mix the water and sugar.
Add the flour, salt and olive oil. Mix well until obtaining dough.
Put the dough on a surface and knead until the ingredients are combined. Then, form a ball.
Cover the dough with cling film for 1 hour.
Sprinkle flour and knead again.
Cut the dough into 8 pieces. Then form one of them into a rope and shape it into a pretzel.
In a pot of boiling water, add the baking soda and mix well. Then add the pretzel and boil for 30 seconds on each side.
Transfer the pretzels to a baking dish. Brush with egg and sprinkle with coarse salt. Bake for 15 minutes at 450° F.
Remove from the oven, let cool slightly and eat!
