Borscht with Meatballs recipe
This is a typical Ukrainian soup, popular in Eastern Europe and the Baltic region. Here is the recipe for beetroot soup with meatballs.

Ingredients

 Meat
- 300 g minced pork or different meat
 - 1 egg
 - 4 cloves garlic
 - salt
 
Liquid
- 11⁄2 l water
 - 1 carrot
 - 1 onion
 - salt
 - 300 g canned beetroots
 - 300 g potato
 - 10 basil leaves

- sour cream

1. Step 
 Mix all meat ingredients together.
2. Step 
 Nib off a piece of meat and roll it between your hands to form a small meatball.
3. Step 
 Bring the water to a boil. Then add chopped carrot, onion, salt and meatballs to the water. Once the water starts boiling again, boil the soup for another 20 minutes or so.
4. Step 
 Add the potatoes in. Once they are boiling, add the beetroots to the water and bring the soup to a boil.
5. Step 
 Add some basil to the soup.
6. Step 
 Serve some soup onto the plate, and add a little bit of sour cream.
